Almost There...

Well, it's 11:00 on Monday night and I leave for the airport in about seven hours. The bags are packed (60 lbs.!! Well below the limit) and the excitement and nervousness have set in. It is sure to be truly an adventure!

A huge thank you to all who have made these last few weeks amazing and have given me many, many memories to take with me. I can't wait until we can share more after my time in Africa.

I am going to do my VERY, VERY best to try and keep eveyone updated through this blog and emails as much as possible during my time abroad. After my site placement, I am told that I might be able to access a computer once or twice a month. Also, I have posted my mailing address for my time outside Lusaka for training for all those who would like to write or send packages (many, many advance thank yous and I love yous to all who chose to write or send packages).

I am also back on facebook, so if you are so inclined that direction I would love to be your friend.

I love you all!!

First Post!

Welcome to my blog! This blog will chronicle my journey as a Peace Corps volunteer working as a Community Health Development Extensionist in Zambia for the next two years. Translation? I will most likely be working with a rural health clinic and my community to foster relationships and increase awareness on issues such as HIV, malaria and food sustainability.

More to come soon!
